The Asscher shape had regained popularity in 2002 despite being produced in late 1902 by the Asscher Brothers in Holland, after its 100th anniversary and they have changed the technique a little since then. The original design had 58 facets and it was never patented, giving the diamond a square emerald cut, and it usually referred to as
Asscher Cut”.

The Royal Asscher Cut has 74 facets, while the origin Asscher cut and the modern square-emerald cut has 58 facets. They are most commonly used today as commodity terms for square-emerald cuts. They are among the oldest of diamond cuts when you compare them to brilliant cuts like the princess cut and the round brilliant cut because of the reduced precision that is required in the cutting process.

What are the Unique Features of Asscher Diamonds?

One thing that you would notice that would give it a unique look would have to be the straight-edged facets of the Asscher Diamond, which is what gives the ring a clean look. It is also referred to as “square emerald” because both of the shapes carry a signature point of difference to brilliant cuts.

1. Asscher Cut Diamond Color
